CAMPING EXPERIENCES FOR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES.

WELCOME TO The Robert V. & Benjamin G. Miller Fund!

The Fund is established to carry out the mission of creating solutions to social isolation for adults with disabilities.

Grants are awarded to non profit organizations that demonstrate ability to provide participants with periodic opportunities for laughter and fun, while providing opportunities for energy renewal to their families and care givers.

MISSION

  • Serving the needs of adults and caregivers
  • Developing skills through fun, friends and support
  • Building relationships and life experiences

PURPOSE OF THE FUND

Fun, Friends, and Support

Applications to provide week long residential camps/retreats; multiple day overnight camp/retreat/seminars for population subsets; and single event gatherings and activities that maintain and enhance connections made through camping experiences are considered for funding.

The services must create social connections between adults with disabilities; provide opportunities to develop socialization skills, build friendships and support networks while providing respite support for families and certain caregivers.

Adults residing with family caregivers are a priority population. Organizational leadership for creating, promoting and maintaining community partnerships in providing social recreational services for adults is a requirement for grant application.
